Airmen recruitment rally in Kochi next month

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Air Force will conduct an open recruitment rally for the post of airmen from December 15 to 20 in Kochi.

Youths aged 17 to 22 from Ernakulam, Idukki, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram districts and Mahe and Lakshadweep may participate.

The recruitment is for group X (technical) and group Y (non-technical) trades. The venue of the rally is 14 Airmen Selection Centre, VII/302B, Vayu Sena Road (Behind Olimugal Mosque), Kakkanad, Kochi (ph: 0484 2427010).

Those who have completed Plus Two or equivalent examinations with physics, chemistry and mathematics can attend the rally for groups X and Y. However, those who have not studied these subjects can attend the rally only for group Y on December 17.

Eligible candidates can register their names for the written test between 6.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. on December 15 and/or 17 by submitting their original certificates and mark sheets of SSLC or equivalent examinations and Plus Two or equivalent examinations and certificates proving their domicile status.

Candidates should bring seven copies of recent passport-size colour photographs and two unstamped envelopes. All certificates should be produced in original and in three attested photocopies. Sons of Army, Navy, DSC, MES and central paramilitary forces personnel posted at units located in the seven districts are also eligible, subject to production of requisite certificates from the head of the department concerned.

Candidates cleared after verification of certificates will have to appear for a written test. Those who clear the written test will undergo a physical fitness test.Details can be had from the airmen selection centre.
