Big win for Gurgaon school
GURGAON: Government Senior Secondary School, Gurgaon, trounced Gyandeep Hindi High School, Gandhinagar, 12-0 in the Nehru junior hockey tournament at the Nehru Stadium here on Monday.
Sahil led the scorers’ chart for the Haryana team with four, while Rohit Malik, Sandeep and Neeraj contributed two each. Naveen and Sidhant were the other scorers.
In another match, Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, beat MMK College, Mumbai, 5-0. Ajay Kumar scored a hat-trick in the second half including a penalty-stroke conversion while Kartik Kumar scored the other two for the Rai team.
St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, Nagaland, beat Sainik School, Tilaiya, Jharkhand, 7-0 in the third match. Neikepelie (3) Vimezoto (2) Owais Ahmad and Vizoto Zao were the Nagaland team’s scorers.
