CREATIVE: A student explaining operation of a car using computer at Kamak Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Tuticorin. An art, craft and science exhibition was organised by Kamak Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin, with the objective of showcasing the talent of its students. The students displayed various science models at the exhibition. Interesting among them were operation of cars with the help of computers; different sources of electricity; easy way of cutting glass; automatic street light; burglar alarm; see-saw cand le and Deepavali balloon. Parents were also invited to witness the exhibits. Awards will be presented to prize winners on Children’s day. Students of Srivi Lions Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Srivilliputtur, won the first prize in road cycling, shot put, super senior and senior throwball and senior badminton events in the 50th district-level sports meet held at Kamarajar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi. The winners were congratulated by the correspondent, Principal, Administrative Officer and physical education teachers. Five tenth standard students — P. Meenakshi Priyamvadha, S. Swathi Krishna, C. Krishnaveni, B. Raja Bhavithra and L. P. Prasanthi — of V. S. K. Duraiswamy Nadar English Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi, displayed a model, ‘Biogas-cum-solar powered light trap,’ at ‘Bodhgaya 2008,’ a workshop on techniques in biotechnology for school students organised by the Department of Biotechnology, Kamarajar College of Engineering and Technology, Virudhunagar.
