When she took her cellphone to call somebody Sowrirajan picked a quarrel with her. Later, he pulled out a knife and inflicted not less than 15 stab injuries on her chest. The bus driver drove the body to the Ginjee government hospital where the doctors declared as brought dead. Later Sowrirajan surrendered before the Ginjee police. He confessed to the police that both of them had been in love for eight years and got married four years ago and begot a son. Gunavathi used to stay at Asanur through out the week and come to Arul Nadu on weekends. Recently, she had given in writing to end her conjugal relations with him.
