NASHIK: The Bhonsala Military School (BMS), the institute whose name cropped up during the investigation of September 29 Malegaon blasts for allegedly providing place to the blasts’ accused for a meeting, has cleared its role by issuing a statement. BMS chief secretary Prakash Pathak, in an official release said that the school’s name was unnecessarily being dragged in connection with the Malegaon blasts by media men giving the reference to a meeting held here in September. “We had provided place in BMS to the said organisation [name not mentioned] for the meeting as per rules after receiving a written application by it.” The institute so far never participated in any anti-national or anti-social activities directly or indirectly and it was improper to malign image of such an institute, Mr. Pathak said. BMS thanked all its well-wishers, students and their parents for reposing faith in the institution. BMS, run by Central Hindu Military Education Society, was formed in 1937 in Nashik and has been providing military training to its students.— PTI
