Bihar pavilion to showcase Kalam’s ‘Vision-2020’

Staff Reporter

“To focus on the State Government’s achievements”

NEW DELHI: The Bihar pavilion at the upcoming India International Trade Fair opening at Pragati Maidan here on November 14 will be based on former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s “Vision-2020”.

“Our pavilion ‘Bihar 2020’ will exhibit a combination of the State’s rich cultural heritage and modern developmental activities carried on by the State Government to fulfil Dr. Kalam’s vision for the country. The hall will focus on the State Government’s achievements in infrastructure, industry, forestry, health, power, education, women’s empowerment and social welfare. It will also showcase Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam’s achievements in bridges and road construction,” said Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam chairman Pratyaya Amrit in a statement here.

The Bihar pavilion’s theme will be similar to the IITF theme of infrastructure and women’s empowerment.

“Infrastructure Day” will be observed on November 24. A cultural programme based on the State’s folk dances and music will be a special attraction on “Bihar Day” that will be celebrated on November 26.

Stalls of Madhubani sari, Mithila Godna painting, handloom silk and sari, appliqué bed sheets and traditional food delicacies will be available for visitors.

Mr. Amrit said the pavilion would showcase a wide array of products.
