Hearing of elevated road case adjourned

BANGALORE: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Monday submitted to the Karnataka High Court that it was re-examining certain technical aspects relating to acquisition of land for the elevated road over the busy Hosur Road.

When advocate for the petitioners said the Centre was looking into their representation against NHAI submission when a case challenging the acquisition of their lands for the project, NHAI said it had received the representation. It said certain technical aspects were being re-examined and sought time.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice P.D. Dinakaran and Justice V.G. Sabhait adjourned hearing of the case by two weeks.

Notice

Justice S. Abdul Nazir on Monday ordered issue of notices to the authorities, including the Medical Council of India (MCI) on a petition by Sujayendra D.M. and two other MBBS students of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, challenging a government order of October 15, 2008 reducing the intake from 250 to 150 seats.
