KOCHI: The Kerala secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Pinarayi Vijayan, has blamed a section of the media for portraying the State police in bad light. In his inaugural address at a study camp organised here for party workers from Lakshadweep on Monday, Mr. Vijayan said the move to defame the police was part of supporting the United Democratic Front in the coming Lok Sabha election. On reports that policemen owing allegiance to the CPI(M) were attending meetings held in police stations and party offices, Mr. Vijayan said there was no need for his party to hold meets in police stations.
