Vigilance Awareness Week

TIRUCHI: Lectures by eminent personalities, quiz and slogan contests will mark the week-long Vigilance Awareness Week that commenced on Monday at BHEL, Tiruchi.

K. Sivakumar, General Manager, Marketing – FB and ERP, BHEL, inaugurated the event and administered pledge to senior officials and union leaders. BHEL, Tiruchi, according to a release, has been observing Vigilance Awareness Week since 2000 as advised by the Central Vigilance Commission.

In his message to employees, V. Ananthakrishnan, General Manager In-Charge, said the purpose of observance of the week through programmes and competitions was to reinforce the need for efficiency, transparency, personal discipline and fairness in public spending. The systems, procedures and policies of BHEL reflects emphasis on preventive vigilance, transparency and fairness, he said, adding that various initiatives had been taken for improvement.
