Hyderabad: From grand pianos to the latest digital pianos, not to mention upright pianos. Then there are the elegant high wind instruments such as saxophones and trumpets.

A good range of amazing guitars, violins, keyboards and drum kits…it’s a virtual treasure trove and haven for a music lover.

And not one but two shops selling exclusive musical instruments range from the world famous ‘Yamaha’ brand have been opened in the capital on Monday. While the ‘Beat Spot’ store has equipment range from Yamaha alone including software and accessories, the other store titled - Music Square, also houses pianos of all kinds, music books and the likes.

Musee Musical in association with Yamaha Music India brought these stores to the twin cities.

And the special guest for the evening inauguration was none other than ace percussionist Sivamani.

“It’s good to see that music enthusiasts can now find whatever they are looking for.

Variety

No store had such variety of instruments and accessories when I started playing drums. What is overwhelming is that every instrument made by Yamaha is available here which is good for all those budding and professional musicians,” he said.

The stores in fact turned into a venue for an energized jamming session between Sivamani and Pitti Hecht, a German musician, who was accompanying him.

With Sivamani rolling the drum sticks and flawlessly finding the right timing,

Pittie supplemented the beat by playing the ‘congos’, much to the gathering’s delight.

But it was 11-year-old E. Purushottam who enjoyed the most as he was given one of the drum sticks to play along with Sivamani himself.

“It felt good playing the drums with him. I hope I can play the drums like him in future,” he chortled, all excited.

The Managing Director of Yamaha Music India, Kozaburo Kume, was also present.
