THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V.U. Mathewkutty of Mathrubhumi daily has bagged this year’s ‘our health’ media award instituted by the Indian Medical Association. His series on ‘high range without specialty facilities’ that depicted the lack of modern facilities for treatment at hospitals in Kannur won the award. The award for the best health reporting went to G. Rajeev of The New Indian Express. His report ‘Permanent cure needed’, which highlighted the problems plaguing the casualty wing of the Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, won the award. The award for the best television reporter went Praveena of Manorama Vision. The award comprises Rs.10,000 in cash, statute and a citation. The award will be given away at Perunthalmanna on Sunday.
