Short-term courses at Indira College

To upgrade skills of women candidates

TIRUCHI: Recognising Srimathi Indira Gandhi College as its Nodal Centre, the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD), Bharathidasan University, has authorised the college to conduct short-term, certificate, and diploma courses that are designed to upgrade skills of women candidates and help them tap employment opportunities.

Women students of any affiliated colleges of Bharathidasan University, engineering colleges, polytechnics and higher secondary schools, and housewives, educated and school dropouts from rural and urban areas in Tiruchi and surrounding districts can enrol themselves for the courses to be conducted from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on week-days in the college campus, according to a communication from IECD Director K. Parthasarathy. The short term courses are (duration, educational qualification and fee in brackets): CV Designing and Interview Techniques (one week, 10th pass / fail and above, Rs. 500), Application of SPSS Packages (three weeks, PG/M.Phil.,/Ph.D. Scholars and teachers, Rs. 1,500), Personality Development (one month, 10th pass / fail and above, Rs. 750), Cell Phone Servicing (one week, 8th pass / fail and above, Rs. 500), and Photoshop (one month, 10th pass /fail and above). Certificate Courses: Photoshop (three months, 10th pass and above, Rs. 2,000), Human Resource Management (same as above), and Apparel Enrichment (same as above). University certificates will be given to those who successfully complete the courses. Interested persons can take a demand draft for Rs. 50/- in favour of The Director, IECD, Bharathidasan University, Khajamalai Campus, Tiruchi – 23 from any nationalised bank and get the application from the office of Srimathi Indira Gandhi College, Chatram Bus Stand, Tiruchi, during college office hours.

Applications will be accepted up to November 15 for the courses that will start from November 17.
