VISAKHAPATNAM: Conducting the District Review Council meeting by barring the entry of press was the most undemocratic act and must be viewed seriously, Deputy Floor Leader of Progressive Democratic Front in Legislative Council M.V.S. Sarma said on Tuesday. Since the DRC discussions were meant for the development of district and no topic on is agenda was a secret, the district administration should explain why the press was not allowed to cover Tuesday’s meeting, Mr. Sarma demanded. The District Minister in-charge was conducting the DRC meetings as a “drama” without taking any decisions that would benefit the people or accepting resolutions. The press was barred from the meeting this time because it was bringing this fact to the notice of the people, Mr. Sarma said and added that he would take up the issue of barring press from covering the proceedings with the Government.
