Some 6,000 candidates attend the test on first day, out of whom 1,900 qualify in height. VIZIANAGARAM: The Army recruitment rally began at Sir Vizzi Stadium here on Wednesday. On the first day some 6000 candidates from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari and Khammam districts and Yanam in Puducherry attended for Soldier Technical and Soldier Nursing categories. Of them 1900 candidates qualified in height. Army personnel, three tehsildars and three officials from the Education Department were verifying their documents. The eligible candidates would have to attend physical fitness test at 5 am on Thursday, said SETVIZ CEO and coordinator R. Tyagaraju. A 40-member team of Army personnel headed by Col. Tushar Roy is conducting the recruitment process. Stating that the recruitment process was peaceful, he said that 75 police constables, three circle inspectors and five sub-inspectors/assistant sub-inspectors were deployed for bandobust. The district administration provided amenities at the stadium for the benefit of candidates. On Nov 6: Verification of affidavits for Soldier (General Duty). Physical fitness test will be conducted for the eligible the following day.
