Rajahmundry: In protest against seizure of a shop by the Minister for Civil Supplies Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy on Tuesday, rice merchants closed their shops. They held a meeting at the Merchant’s Association hall and discussed the incident. Polasanapalli Hanumantha Rao, City Congress Committee vice-president, said when his brother was selling fine quality rice at Rs. 20, as per Government norms, how could a case be filed against him. Another rice dealer said millers were supplying 20 to 30 percent broken rice and consumers were rejecting this rice. Staff Reporter
