Clerk held on funds misuse charge

Karwar: Manjunath Hegde, a second division clerk of MGCM Girls High School, Dandeli, was arrested by the police for allegedly misappropriating scholarship fees of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students and also for giving wrong information to the department.

He was arrested when he was on duty at the school. The police have recovered the stamps, seals and some papers in this connection.

President of the school management committee had filed a police complaint against the clerk alleging that he had misused the scholarship fee meant for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students.
