PUTTAPARTHI: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L.K. Advani, has welcomed the historic democratic change of guard scripted by the people of the United States of America by electing Barak Obama as their next President. He also congratulated the President-elect on his victory. In a brief chat with media persons at the Satya Sai airport here on Wednesday, Advani said the people of the US wished a change though their country was a super power and they were successful in achieving it by electing the first African-American as the country’s 44th President. People of India were also wishing a change in the largest democracy in the world for peace and prosperity. Foresees BJP winHe predicted that BJP-led NDA victory in the next Parliament elections was imminent as majority population in the country were aspiring for it. “Nobody can stop the NDA wresting power at the Centre in the coming polls,” he asserted. “The unique feature of our democracy was the power of franchise of the people that would change guards of the country peacefully,” he added. Earlier, Mr. Advani had arrived here in a special aircraft from Tirupati. On his arrival, he was welcomed by Penukonda Sub-Collector Praveen Kumar and OSD G. Vijaykumar. The BJP leader drove straight to Shanti Bhavan and later had special ‘darshan’ of Satya Saibaba for about an hour in the green room. His family members also sought blessings of the Baba later. A large number of BJP activists from the district led by district president M.S. Parthasarathi, general secretary S. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Lalithkumar were present.
