Polit Bureau meeting of Telugu Desam Party turns out to be a damp squib Many of the TDP leaders amazed at the arrangements at the venue
NTR PRANGANAM (GUNTUR): People waited with bated breath to listen to Nandamuri Balakrishna and the preparation for introducing him to the crowd was excellent and major portions of his speech touched upon all aspects of public suffering and Congress government’s failure. Large parts of the speech were directly taken out of N T Rama Rao’s speeches, when the TDP founder was at his peak and audience lustily cheered every word that came out of his mouth. Every speaker prior to Balakrishna prepared apt ground for drawing attention of the public to his speech. A more than expected gathering of people gave a sense of satisfaction to the TDP leaders and organisers. TDP leaders who came from every nook corner of the State were amazed to see such elaborate arrangments made for the Yuva Garjana and accepted in private that nowhere in the State had the party ever organised such a major meeting including several Mahanadus and Rythu Garjana at Vijayawada. There were several figures doing rounds over the actual number of people present at the venue, but people came to the venue right from the morning and some of them left immediately after looking at the venue, photo exhibition and some of the popular TDP leaders busy with airing their views ‘live’ in front of TV Channel cameras. The Polit Bureau meeting of Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday afternoon turned out to be a damp squib with all major decisions put on paper being readout at the meeting and asked to be ratified. Major provisions of the youth policy with a Rs.50-crore package for them were discussed. People from the nearby areas came only after the helicopter of Balakrishna arrived at the venue.
