Foreign liquor worth Rs.2 lakh seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Valiyathura police on Wednesday seized 89 bottles of foreign liquor worth Rs.2 lakh from a 35-year-old man hailing from Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu. A police team led by Sub-Inspector D.K. Prithviraj seized the liquor while it was being transported under the guise of soap from Valiyathura junction. The liquor that reportedly came from Singapore via Chennai was for retailing at Beemapally.

The accused will be produced in a court on Thursday.
