Manipal: The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) will be organising the fifth annual national Control Instrumentation System Conference, titled CISCON-08, here on November 7 and 8. Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University and Director of the Institute S.S. Pabla said that the institute had started CISCON in 2004. Annual eventIt had successfully held similar conferences (CISCON) in 2005, 2006 and 2007. ParticipantsNearly 100 delegates from different parts of the country would be participating in the conference this year, including those from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Indian Institute of Science and Technology (IIST). Nearly 80 papers covering areas such as instrumentation and control, aerospace engineering, bio-medical instrumentation, robotics, automation, power electronics and drives, and soft computing would be presented at the conference. Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University H.S. Ballal will inaugurate the conference. Dean (R&D) of NMAM Institute of Technology, S. Narayana Iyer will deliver the keynote address. Resource personsThe resource persons for the conference include S. Abraham Lincoln of Annamalai University, Sreesha of NMAM Institute of Technology and Smrithi Srivastava of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), New Delhi, Dr. Pabla said. Professor and head of the Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering V.I. George and convener of CISCON Surekha Kamath were present on the occasion.
