People came voluntarily, not brought, says MLA Success boosts TDP cadre morale VIJAYAWADA: TDP MLAs V. Narender Reddy, N. Amarnath Reddy, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and MLC A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday asserted that their party’s Yuva Garjana near here ‘marked the beginning of the end of the Congress rule in the State.’ They said that countdown started for the “corrupt misrule” of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leaders said that the roaring success of their public meeting brought cheer among the cadres and it indicated the certainty that the TDP would come back to power. They termed the gathering of the crowds at the public meeting as unprecedented and massive. Mr. Amarnath Reddy, the MLA from Chittoor district, said that it would be impossible to bring such huge crowd through organised efforts and the people came voluntarily to show their trust and confidence in the leadership of the TDP. “It shows that people are vexed with this Government. They are totally dissatisfied with the chaotic governance in the State. It has reflected in every possible way in the success of Yuva Garjana”, he said. MLA Narender Reddy challenged finance minister K. Rosaiah to say whether he had seen such massive crowds at any public meeting in his long political career. “This is possible only for the TDP. The anger of young people manifested itself in the huge turnout at the meeting,” he added. Mr. Umamaheswara Rao said that the TDP cadres were rejuvenated with the huge success of the meeting and this would mark the beginning of a continuous campaign against the “corrupt” rule of the Congress by conducting meetings at village and mandal levels all over the State. He said that it all went in an organised way without any untoward incident despite the fact that the police did not bother to regulate the traffic. Mr. Rao said that nearly 10 activists, who participated in the Yuva Garjana, were injured.
