Vigilance Awareness Week observed

CUTTACK: “Corruption is not only giving and receiving gratification alone. Rather all social evils including dowry, female foeticide and even neglecting official duties could come under the purview of corruption”, said IG (central range) S.K. Upadhaya at a vigilance awareness week function here on Friday.

The IPS officer said corruption is not rampant among only government officials but the root of corruption has spread to every nook and corner of society. He hoped that a corruption-free society could be thought of by spreading awareness on the subject sincerely.

Upadhaya administered the oath to check corruption to all participants The function was presided over by the Collector K.K. Mohanty.

Koraput: The aim of vigilance is to discourage corruption and enhance efficiency, Jugal Kishore Mahapatra, General Manager, Engine Division of HAL said while attending the valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week on the HAL premises at Sunabeda on Friday.

He said that the country could progress if everyone adopts the habit of self-introspection while carrying out a transparent approach in their work. Senior Manager (Vigilance) Major B.C. Mishra, Additional General Manager and V.Srinivasan spoke.
