Entertaining flick

GOOD SHOW: Nikhil and Aksha in ‘Yuvata’.

This is another teen-centric film but is peppered with romance, comedy, friendship and revolves around the travails of a few youth who are struggling to meet their goals.

The film opens with Nikhil who is a no-nonsense, fun loving guy opting to leave his home in the village due to the harassment of his uncle and aunt and banking on his best friend Ranadheer for survival in the city.

Ranadheer’s ambition is to go to the U.S. because he thinks that is the only way he can wed Monali. Nikhil bumps into a medical student Aksha and love blossoms.

All is well until one of their friends, who aspires to become a film director, is seriously wounded and will be out of danger only if Rs. 5 lakh is generated for medical expenses. Nikhil and Ranadheer do mobilise the money but when it is time to return the loan, they strike upon an idea of looting a bank.

They are caught and put behind bars. What happens from then onwards is a hilarious trip of finding the missing booty.

It is not the regular college romance, but is woven around idyllic surroundings and good-hearted people. Nikhil gets a good role that suits him. He displays good amount of energy in his body language, dialogues and dances too. The director’s message of friendship is clear and bold and he manages to hold the interest of the audiences without being too trivial. There are tense moments, funny interludes, passable songs and above all satisfactory performances from the cast.
