Anti-filaria tablets to be distributed

Kakinada: The Medical and Health Department will distribute DEC (Diethyl Carbamazine) tablets for eradication of filaria on November 11 which is National Filaria Prevention Day. People can get the tablets at the government hospitals, primary health centres and community health centres. The tablets will also be distributed door-to-door on November 12 and 13.

According to Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, a population of 48 lakh has been targeted for supplying tablets. Children below two years, pregnant women and those suffering from various illnesses are advised to not consume the medicine.
