KOZHIKODE: All India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA) will intensify the agitation against the hike in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the insurance sector. In a statement here, the LIC Employees Union Kozhikode Division said the agitation was part of the decision taken by the Secretariat of the AIIEA at Hyderabad on November 2 and 3. The AIIEA opposed the legislation to be introduced in the next Parliamentary session to hike the FDI limit in the insurance sector from 26 per cent to 49 per cent. The measures would harm the country’s economy, the association opined.
