Passenger vessels flagged off

m.v. Bambooka and m.v. North Passage, the last two of the series of ten passenger vessels built by Hindustan Shipyard Ltd., for Port Blair were flagged off on Thursday night by HSL Chairman and Managing Director Rear Admiral Ajit Tewari.

Each ship is 40.4 m long and designed for a speed of 12.5 nautical miles and can carry 150 passengers with complement of 14 crew members.

The original design for 100 passenger capacity was modified as desired by the owners for the last two vessels, according to an Hindusthan Shipyard Limited spokesman.
