Birth anniversary of CV Raman celebrated

Mrs. A.V.N. College on Friday celebrated the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate and its exceptional alumnus Sir C.V. Raman.

Principal A. Subba Rao, staff representative R. Kanna Rao and senior teachers of the Physics Department garlanded the bronze bust of Sri C.V. Raman.

The Indian Institute of Sciences (Bangalore) presented the bronze bust to the college, where Sri Raman studied from 1910 to 1914.

The Department of Physics organised the function. Lecturers M. Sivaram, N.E. Gideon, A. Savitri, S. Srinivasa Rao and others spoke about Sir Raman and his research.
