Inculcate global mindset in youth: Vice-Chancellor

CHENNAI: Anna University Vice-Chancellor P. Mannar Jawahar on Friday appealed to private autonomous universities and business schools to prepare the younger generation with a global mindset with special focus on imparting skills that would enable them to face the challenges in the intensely competitive world ahead.
International conference
Inaugurating a two-day international conference on “Trends in international management experiences - Time 2008,” organised by the Vinayaka Missions University, he wanted the universities to bring more transparency in their operations, and impart ethical values in life to mould the younger generation in all respects.
Mr.Jawahar appreciated the efforts of Vinayaka Missions University for organising a global level meet on management experiences which was not only timely but would spell out the emerging trends in this vital sector.
Lucas TVS President N. Ravichandran spoke on the importance of industry-institution collaborative efforts. Chairman and CEO of Philips group of companies, Malaysia, Rajah Kumar, said Indian employees who are trained in skill development are sought after in different parts of the world, particularly in South East Asian countries.
