Andhra Pradesh
The TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu at Mahanadu on 2005 said that raking up the issue of statehood to Telangana by some parties was a political gimmick. The left parties which advocated united Andhra Pradesh are demanding a separate state. How can a few politicians presume to take the authority to demand a state into their hands, and claim that they are doing it for the good of people. The honour and dignity of the Telugu people will be protected when they are united. Let the government remove the economic disparities in the region.Disintegration of the state will have an adverse effect on its economic development. M. Satyanaranayana Rao, Warangal Hear the SCs’ voicePolitical leaders who are leading the stir for separate Telangana are more interested in capturing power than development of Telangana region. The separatists are not the real representatives of the SCs in Telangana. I request that the voice of the SCs like Muslims be heard before any decision is taken as SCs constitute 25 p.c. of the Telangana population. The SCs want development within the state of Andhra Pradesh. M L Prem Rao, Trimulgherry Seniors’ opinion mattersBetter we take the opinion of seniors like G.Venkatswamy, M. S. Rajalingam and others for the formation of separate Telangana State if it is inevitable for the sake of few jobs and political acumen. Let us not repeat the history of 1947-48. In my opinion Hyderabad can be second Chandigarh to deter any untoward historical event. Kiran, Vijayanagar colony Arogyasri for senior citizensAs a gesture of goodwill why not the government issue Rajiv Arogyasri health card to senior citizens on submission of a copy of Aasara ID card. Also white rations cards under conversion of pink cards may be issued to senior citizens who are eligible due to the hike in income slab. Why not both the cards be issued at a single window. M.K. Vyas, Malkajgiri
