Correspondent

MAHABUBNAGAR: Telugu Desam Muncipal councilors, leaders and activists have staged dharna for over two hours in front of One town police station here on Sunday against the highhanded behaviour of reserve police inspector Syed Anwar Hussain towards the driver of a vehicle of TDP leader and MLC A. Reventh Reddy and illegal seizure of his vehicle.

They demanded suspension of RI for seizing the vehicle of the MLC and taking vehicle driver Reddiah into custody. They alleged that the driver was illegally detained in One town police station and severely beaten by RI and other police personnel. Mr.Reventh Reddy told the The Hindu that his vehicle was illegally seized for no reason when it was parked in Palamoor university campus where he went participate in the Chief Minister’s program. “It was nothing but a conspiracy hatched by Congress leaders to see that I fail to participate in the Chief Minister’s programme,” he said. However police said that the vehicle of MLC was seized when it hit the SP’s vehicle and tried to join the Chief Minister’s convoy without obtaining prior permission to join the convoy.

Activists of MRPS and CPI(M) and others have created ruckus at the public meeting that was addressed by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy. While MRPS workers raised slogans demanding categorisation of SC’s, the CPI(M) activists demanded house sites to homeless poor families of Mahabubnagar.
