‘State Government is implementing pro-people programmes’

Highways Minister stresses the development schemes executed by the Government


ERODE: Tamil Nadu Government is the only one implementing pro-people programmes, State Highways Minister M.P. Saminathan has said.

A district administration release quoting him says the Minister, speaking at a function organised near Vellakoil recently, has said that ever since the DMK-led Government assumed office in the State, it has been implementing pro-people programmes.

Schemes

He pointed to the marriage assistance scheme, child birth assistance scheme, free education scheme, free bicycle distribution, free bus pass distribution, unemployment youth assistance programme, laptop distribution for top 1,000 SSLC rank holders, etc. to underscore his point.

Local bodies

Minister Mr. Saminathan has also said that the present Government took care of the needs of the local bodies through the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam and Anaithu Peruratchi Anna Marumalarchi Thittam, the release says.

The minister also highlighted the importance the DMK Government has given to Self-Help Groups across the State, the release adds.

Roads

Regarding programmes implemented by his department, the release says the Minister has said that the Department had laid roads and bridge in such a scale that other states were following Tamil Nadu’s model.

Pattas

The release says Mr. Saminathan then declared open roads measuring 4.6 km, built atRs. 82.80 lakh.

The minister also distributed pattas to 39 beneficiaries.
