Chance to pay off commercial tax dues

ERODE: Tamil Nadu Government has provided an opportunity to clear commercial tax arrears, says a release from the district administration.

It says that as per Government Order 101, 102 of Commercial Tax and Registration Department, dated October 31, 2008, traders can clear dues, subject to certain conditions. The release says the scheme will be in force for three months from November 1, traders wanting to benefit from the scheme should apply within three months, the traders’ dues should be prior to April 1, 2002, there should be no cases pending related to the dues and traders should pay one-third of pending amount with six per cent interest, or the full pending amount with six per cent interest, or 10 per cent of fine, or 25 per cent interest.

The release further says that traders interest may get in touch with the nearest assistant commissioner of commercial taxes or log on to www.tnvat.com and www.tnvat.gov.in
