Complaint lodged with Collector, Superintendent of Police VIZIANAGARAM: As a sequel to the wordy duel and near fisticuffs at the municipal council meeting on October 7, Muddada Chandrasekhar, TDP councillor, reportedly received a threatening call on his mobile from none other than Municipal Chairperson Avanapu Suribabu at 11 a.m. on Sunday, according to V.S. Prasad, TDP floor leader in the council. At a press conference on Monday, Dr. Prasad alleged that the Chairperson had threatened to see his (Mr. Chandrasekhar’s) end before the next council meeting. This was informed in writing to both district Collector and Superintendent of Police. A complaint was also lodged with the I town police, he added. Condemning the threatening call, he said that such acts would lower the prestige of the Chair. Mr. Chandrasekhar, seeking protection for his life and family members, said such threats would not cow him down from fighting discrimination in the allotment of LPG connections and Indiramma houses to beneficiaries in the TDP-won wards. He also threatened to organise dharnas in front of Congress councillor A. Venu’s house, till he tendered an apology for the ‘abusive’ language used at the council meeting. Former Municipal Chairperson P. Kanakamahalakshmi, party district vie-president P. Ramakrishna and others were present.
