TN begins well

CHENNAI: Host Tamil Nadu scored a 17-6 win over Uttaranchal in a pool ‘D’ league match of the National women’s handball championship at the Nehru indoor stadium here on Monday.

In Pool ‘B’, AP defeated last year’s runner up Manipur 22-12.

Other results: Group ‘A’: U.P. bt Jharkhand 21-6; Kerala bt Jharkhand 19-9. Group ‘B’: Delhi bt Orissa 28-7. Group ‘C’: Goa bt HP 13-8; Kerala bt Jharkhand 18-9.
