HYDERABAD: Activists of the CPI (M), CPI and Telugu Desam parties on Monday organised a dharna in front of the Ranga Reddy Collectorate demanding that the government follow the protocol while holding official meetings in the district.

The participants criticised the government for reducing the official meetings in the district only for people’s representatives belonging to the Congress party and utilising officials for propaganda purposes.

False cases

The speakers cited the recently held meeting in connection with the Indiramma housing as an example of violation of protocol in the presence of Minister for Mines Sabita Reddy. They criticised the attack on Ibrahimpatnam legislator M. Narasimha of CPI (M) and alleged that the police had filed false cases against him and followers.

The speakers included legislators -- K. Harishwar Reddy (TDP), Mahender Reddy, district TDP president, CPI (M) district secretary D. G. Narasimha Rao, CPI district secretary K. Balamallesh, and others.

Later, a delegation submitted a memorandum to Ranga Reddy Collector Dana Kishore, demanding observance of protocol in official gatherings and action against persons for attacking MLA.
