TD suspects foul play

Staff Reporter

Party delegation visits Yamuna barrack in district jail

Team seeks to know how autopsy was conducted without the presence of kin

Suspects drugging of Moddu Seenu before he was done to death

ANANTAPUR: The three-member delegation of TDP comprising N. Janardhan Reddy, K. Sivaprasada Rao and Seetharama Rao, that was rushed in here by a chartered helicopter, visited the Yamuna barrack in the district jail at Reddypalli near here on Sunday, where Moddu Seenu was allegedly killed by fellow inmate Om Prakash.

The delegation also had a look at Seenu’s body kept in the general hospital morgue and met the forensic expert who conducted the post-mortem, V. Prabhakar Rao.

They sought to know from him about the wounds on Moddu Seenu’s body and how the hole-like wounds were created at three or four places on the face and head.

Express surprise

They even expressed surprise as to how such wounds could be created if the attack was made with a dumb-bell and said that the wounds could have been created due to firing with a gun, a short weapon like pistol or revolver. Mr. Prabhakar Rao explained that such wounds could be caused even by hitting with a blunt-edged object forcefully. He would reveal all the details in the post-mortem report to be prepared on Monday, the doctor told the TDP leaders.

On being asked how the autopsy was conducted without the presence of relatives, the doctor said that they had conducted it on the orders of the divisional magistrate, the RDO. Later, they met the SP M.K. Singh for about an hour.

Speaking to mediapersons in the night, the TDP leaders alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, his son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, Panchayat Raj Minister J.C. Diwakar Reddy and Suri were behind the killing of Moddu Seenu. They suspected that Moddu Seenu could even have been drugged before being attacked and killed.

Re-post mortem sought

They demanded an inquiry into the sensational killing with a sitting High Court judge and a re-post mortem of the body with independent forensic experts. Moddu Seenu would have turned an approver but pressure from the government and the CBI prevented it.

The TDP leaders sought to know what the jail authorities were doing when two jail inmates were clashing over petty issues over the last 10 days. The jail and police authorities were concocting stories to cover up the whole issue, they alleged.
