Frightening: The school bus involved in the accident at Autonagar in Tirupati on Monday

TIRUPATI: Twenty three students were injured, while four of them suffered serious injuries, when a private bus bulldozed through their school van near Autonagar on the busy Renigunta road here on Monday evening. 50 students were on board the bus belonging to a private school.

Due to the impact the van capsized to its right, making the children have a free fall towards the right-side windows.

The bus was proceeding from Tirupati to Tiruthani in Tamil Nadu and the school van was also moving in the same direction to drop the students at the residential hostel in Autonagar. The passersby immediately got into action and rescued the children by breaking open the other windows. Several girl students were seen inconsolably weeping.
