Students celebrate successful launch of Chandrayan

Mission accomplished: Schoolchildren taking out a procession in Salem recently to congratulate scientists for the successful launch of Chandrayan. —

SALEM: People and schoolchildren at Maniyanur here congratulated the scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the India’s successful moon mission Chandrayan by taking out a procession.

They hailed the organisation for successfully inserting Chandrayan - I into lunar orbit. Children carried the posters of ISRO Chairman G. Madhavan Nair, Project Director M. Annadurai, launch vehicle and the spacecraft in the procession hailing the historical event.

Flagged off by Dharmapuri District Elementary Education Officer N. Thirunavukkarasu at Pillaiyar Koil Street in Gandhi Nagar.It concluded near the Gandhi Statue in Annathanapatti.

Chocolates and biscuits were distributed to the children. The Thiruneelakandan Friends Club organised the event.
