Seenu’s murder: Kodela sees conspiracy

Staff Reporter

All the three main accused in Paritala murder case eliminated, he says

Police version hard to believe, says the senior TDP leader

He seeks the resignation of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister

GUNTUR: Senior Telugu Desam Party leader Kodela Siva Prasada Rao has alleged that the ghastly murder of Julakanti Srinivasa Reddy alias Moddu Seenu inside the barracks of Anantapur jail is part of a conspiracy to clinically destroy all evidence pertaining to the murder of Paritala Ravindra.

‘Evidence destroyed’

The TDP leader, who was part of the three-member delegation that visited the jail premises on Sunday, told reporters here on Tuesday that the murder was committed only after Moddu Seenu agreed to turn approver in the case.

“All the three main accused in the murder case – Aziz Reddy, Sambasiva Rao and now Moddu Seenu – were eliminated as part of a well-planned conspiracy to destroy evidence. We see Moddu Seenu not as a person but as an evidence. The government has been spreading concocted stories on the whole episode,” Dr. Rao alleged.

He said that he found it hard to believe the police version that Moddu Seenu was clobbered with a cement dumb-bell pointing out that it would take more than a couple of persons to overpower him.

Jail authorities erred in mixing a convict like Moddu Seenu with the other under-trial prisoners.

Finding fault with the way the post mortem examination was held and body rushed to hospital in a 108 ambulance, he said the FIR was registered at 8 p.m. while the murder took place at 4.30 a.m.

“The government has ordered re-post mortem under pressure from the Opposition and the media, but all the evidence would have got destroyed as more than 50 hours had passed,” he said.

Demanding the immediate resignation of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister, Dr. Rao demanded an impartial inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the incident.
