COIMBATORE: A refresher course on teaching science to children with visual impairment was conducted recently by the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University. Teachers working in special schools and those involved in the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan programmes in the State attended. Sponsored by the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped, the course aimed at equipping the teachers with necessary skills in dealing with children with visual impairment. N.Muthaiah, principal of SRKV College of Education, emphasised the importance of teaching science to children with visual impairment.
