Congress decries TDP councillors’ campaign
Correspondent
VIZIANAGARAM: The town Congress committee on Tuesday took exception to the ‘vilification’ campaign launched by TDP councillors after the municipal council meeting on November 7 when one of the Congress councillor used ‘abusive’ language against TDP councillors.
At a press conference, Pilla Vijaya Kumar, town Congress committee president, while confirming that Chairperson A. Suri Babu telephoned Muddala Chandrasekhar, TDP councillor, on Sunday, said that it was done only to ask him to bury ill-feelings, if any, and cooperate with the ruling party for all-round development of the town. But, the councillor twisted the fact to gain political mileage and complained to the Collector and the Superintendent of Police. He said that the TDP councillors were resorting to cheap gimmicks. K. Veerabhadra Swamy, MLA, who was present, said that there was no discrimination at all in the allotment of LPG connections under the Deepam scheme and it was being made in phases. Municipal Chairperson A. Suri Babu was also present.
