Recruitment age relaxed by 5 years in Andhra Pradesh

HYDERABAD: To benefit the unemployed the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to relax the upper age limit by five years across the board for all categories. The age relaxation will cover four specific recruitments to be undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission to fill 4,350 vacancies.

The order will be issued on Wednesday, S. Balasubramaniam, Secretary (Services) said here on Tuesday.

The relaxation has also been allowed to open category candidates for the first time.

With this, their upper age limit for these specific recruitments of the APPSC has been raised from 34 to 39 years.

In case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, the upper age limit has been enhanced to 44 years from 39 years and for the physically-challenged to 49 years from 44.

Mr. Balasubramaniam said recruitments would be undertaken with this five-year age relaxation to fill 4,350 vacancies, most of them falling under the categories of Group I, Group II and Group IV services. Of them, 2,923 vacancies would be under Group I and II services, both gazetted and non-gazetted, and 927 under Group IV services.
