Letters to the Editor
The article “The Great War remembered” (Nov. 11) on World War I with press clippings of the last days of the war was interesting and useful, particularly to the younger generation. It must be news to many that the armistice was signed at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 at the end of a war that lasted for four years and killed millions. That the clippings have been preserved by The Hindu for 90 years is indeed praiseworthy. J. Eden Alexander, Thanjavur P.K. Jayanandan, Kozhikode
