Crop loss to be assessed

VIZIANAGARAM: Following moisture stress due to dry spell, particularly from the beginning of last month, paddy crop under rain-fed minor irrigation tanks, tail-end areas and long-duration crop variety withered.

Joint Director (Agriculture) M. N. Gangaram said revenue and agriculture officials would shortly conduct survey in mandals where the crop damage was more than 50 per cent. d farmers, who availed bank loans and insured before September, would be paid crop insurance for the loss.
