Village servants seek pay hike

HYDERABAD: The AP Gramsevakula Sangham (village servants’ association) on Wednesday represented to Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy seeking increased monthly salary of Rs.3,000 from Rs.1,800, filling of vacant posts and doubling of DA to Rs.100. K. Gopala Rao, president, said that a delegation of the sangham, also pleaded for orders on compassionate appointments, without considering age limit. According to him the Special Chief Secretary and Chief Commissioner of Land Administration had recommended increased monthly salary . –Special Correspondent
