KGEA seeks salary parity with Central staff
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: The Karnataka Government Employees’ Association has urged the Government to revise the salary structure for extending salary, Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance on a par with their counterparts in the Union Government in compliance with the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, which has been implemented recently.
Association president Byrappa told presspersons here on Wednesday that the Government was reportedly considering increasing the salary of its employees by 7.5 per cent. But it had only effected a hike of 4.5 per cent. It was not fair on the part of the Government to state one thing and enforce the least expected one, he said.
The Government had not revised the salary structure since 1999, he added.
