Mr. C. Subramaniam, Minister for Education, Madras State, emphasised the need for taking co-ordinated decisions on the reorganisation of university education, which gave rise to common problems for the Government, the University and the colleges, when he inaugurated a conference of Principals of Arts Colleges in the State on November 12 at the Senate House, Chepauk. The conference has been convened to consider certain problems arising out of the introduction of the three-year degree course. Dr. A. Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar, Vice-Chancellor of the Madras University, was also present.
