VIJAYAWADA: Care and Share Telugu Medium School blanked Bishop Grassi High School 4-0, while KCP Siddhartha Adarsh School beat Nalanda Vidya Niketan 3-0 to enter the final in the seniors’ segment of the Nalanda inter-school football tournament here on Wednesday. In the juniors’ section, Care and Share blanked V.P. Siddhartha 4-0, while KCP Siddhartha Adarsh School outplayed Bishop Grassi 3-1 in the semifinals. The results (semifinals): Seniors: Care and Share TMS 4 (Riyaz 2, Siva Naga Reddy 2) bt VP Siddhartha PS; KCP Siddhartha Adarsh 3 (Indrajit, Gunaraj, Manish) bt Nalanda. Juniors: KCP Siddhartha Adarsh 3 (Roshan, Vivek, Mrinal) bt Bishop Grassi 1 (Chiranjeevi). Pat for LeninCity archery coach Cherukuri Lenin, a South Central Railway Vijayawada Division employee, attended the two-week-long level-3 coaching seminar held at Tizuana, Mexico early this month. Hockey tournamentsAndhra Hockey Association will conduct the State mini (u-14) hockey championship at the Police grounds at Guntur from December 4 to 7, according to AHA secretary Niranjan Reddy here on Wednesday. The tournament will be held in league-cum-knockout basis. The state team will be selected for the 21st D.N. Singh Babu sub-junior all India hockey championship to be held Lucknow from January 24 to February 2, 2009. Machilipatnam will host the Andhra (u-18) sub-junior hockey championship from December 13 to 16. Satyavani to leadB.V. Satyavani will skipper the Andhra Cricket Association’s senior women team for the South Zone one-day tournament to be held at Anantapur from November 21 to 28, according to ACA secretary V.
