BANGALORE: Shwetha Golande, carding a three-over par 72, stole the march on overnight leader Gauri Monga and led the field at the end of the second round in the South India ladies amateur golf championship at the BGC course here on Wednesday. Shwetha, who was placed third on the opening day, had a gross of 146 after the second round. Gauri had to be content be with a joint second spot with Mehar Atwal, after carding a 10-over par. Both Gauri and Mehar were tied at 149 while, Gurbani Singh with a second day’s score of 74 and a gross of 150 was in the third position. . In the Silver class, Renuka Philip held the fort after carding 84 for a gross of 165 while in the bronze division, Sharadha Swami Rao continued to lead with a gross of 192 and second day’s score of 99. The scores (second round): Gold Division (handicap 0-12): 1. Shwetha Golande 146 (74, 72); 2. Mehar Atwal 149 (73, 76) and Gauri Monga 149 (70, 79); Gurbani Singh 150 (76, 74). Silver Division (13-24): 1. Renuka Philip 165 (81, 84); 2. Mita Gowande 169 (85, 84); 3. Shiraz Singh 171 (88, 83). Bronze Division: 1. Sharada S. Rao 192 (93, 99); 2. Gomathi Rajaram 204 (102, 102); 3. Poornima Narayan 206 (103, 103). — Special Correspondent
