Sheila sees pro-incumbency

New Delhi: Claiming that dissidence within Delhi Congress would not mar the prospects of her party in the November 29 elections, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday lashed out at her detractors saying only those who did not get tickets were unhappy.

Instead of anti-incumbency, “pro-incumbency” will ensure Congress’ win, she said. “People who did not get party tickets for fighting the elections were disappointed. They are not happy. I do not agree with dissidence or infighting within the party,” she told PTI on the sidelines of a function here.

Rejecting suggestions that anti-incumbency would affect the Congress, which had been in the office for two consecutive terms in Delhi, the Chief Minister said, “there is nothing on record to suggest that our chances will suffer because of anti-incumbency”.

“I would rather say that pro-incumbency will work in our favour,” she said.
